Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus, True Wireless Earbuds:
Introduction:
Samsung has been in the true wireless segment for a while. Its Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus took a huge step towards general adoption. The Galaxy Buds competed with the Apple AirPods at launch. It fell short when coupled with all but current Samsung devices.
We’ve come a long way since then. Now we have the Samsung Galaxy Buds+. The new earphones were unveiled at the same time as the Galaxy S20 smartphone series.
The new truly wireless headphones provide a few extra capabilities than the original Galaxy Buds.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus Review

- loud and clear
- Android & iOS compatible.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus Design and specifications:
Design:
The design of the Samsung Galaxy Buds was one of our favorites. It’s a good thing Samsung hasn’t changed much in this department.
The Galaxy Buds+ keep the same shape and comfort as the original Buds. Each set of the galaxy buds plus includes three pairs of wings and silicone ear tips. This made for a more secure and comfortable fit.
This is also made for a reasonable level of passive noise isolation. If you don’t like the way the wings fit, you can replace them with one set of plain rubber rings.
The Galaxy Buds+ comes in three colors: black, white, and blue. The earphones and charging case has a glossy finish.
It doesn’t have the matte one seen on the original Galaxy Buds and charging case. This, in our opinion, has improved the appearance of the earphones.
Charging case: Samsung Galaxy Buds
The charging case is otherwise identical to the previous model, with an indicator light on the front and a USB Type-C charging connection on the back.
The case may also be charged wirelessly using a Qi wireless charger or reverse charging on a smartphone that supports it.
Volume adjustment system: True Wireless Earbuds:
For the features enabled, the touch controls on the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ are intuitive and simple to use. You may change the volume, skip to the next or previous track, and customize what a long-press gesture does.
The Galaxy Buds+ are one of the few high-end true wireless earbuds that offer volume adjustment on the earphones themselves.
It makes them one of the few high-end true wireless earphones that offer volume adjustment on the earphones themselves.
Connectivity:
Connectivity is provided by Bluetooth 5, which includes compatibility for the SBC, AAC, and Samsung’s proprietary Scalable Bluetooth codecs.
Although Scalable is considered on par with aptX, the dearth of support outside of Samsung devices means you’ll only be able to get the most out of these headphones if you have a recent Samsung handset.
Samsung galaxy buds plus battery life:
The battery life is a significant improvement. Samsung claims that the earphones may last up to 11 hours without needing to be recharged.
That’s toward the top of the list for genuine wireless earphones in terms of battery life.
The charging case, on the other hand, only stores one full extra charge (11 hours), which is a disappointing amount considering that many other true wireless headphones have two or three full charges in their case.
Even still, being able to use the Galaxy Buds+ on a lengthy flight without having to plug them in is a huge advantage.
Another major benefit of the Galaxy Buds+ is their ability to charge quickly. With a simple 10-minute charge in the case, they can receive three hours of listening time.

Galaxy buds plus waterproof?
When it comes to water, even a small amount might be a major issue. This is due to the fact that Galaxy Buds plus is not waterproof or even water-resistant.
The headphones are IPX2-rated, which means that a few droplets of water hitting the earbuds could cause hardware issues.
Galaxy buds plus in android and iphone:
Although Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable Android app for the Galaxy Buds was good, it has been upgraded with the Galaxy Buds+.
This app is compatible with a variety of Samsung wearable devices. The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ app for iOS has also been published, bringing official app support for these earphones to Apple devices.
Performance compared to Galaxy buds:
Sound quality: Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus
The design, specifications, and most functions have remained almost unchanged. The performance of the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ has substantially improved.
The new twin dynamic driver system improves sound quality, while the triple microphone system boosts voice call performance.
While the Galaxy Buds+ performed best when paired with a Samsung smartphone, they also sounded great on non-Samsung devices. This is a significant upgrade over the original Galaxy Buds.
For much of the review, we paired the Samsung Galaxy Buds+ with a Samsung Galaxy S9 (Review) to test the Scalable Bluetooth codec.
We also put it to the test with a OnePlus 7T Pro (Review) and an iPad mini (2019) to see how versatile these headphones are.
When the Galaxy Buds+ were paired with the Samsung smartphone, the sound quality was excellent.
The Scalable Bluetooth codec is on par with aptX and LDAC, with the exception that it is only accessible on Samsung devices. The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ sounded great whether we were listening to high-resolution audio tracks or streaming music from Spotify or YouTube Music.
Voice Call: Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus
When we evaluated the Galaxy Buds last year, we found them to be good for voice calls. In galaxy buds plus also, the quality of voice call is excellent.
Each earbud now has an extra microphone, which is intended to increase call quality and ambient mode performance.
We found call quality to be great, with clear sound and no complaints from the other side about poor voice transmission.
The ambient mode works as intended, however it doesn’t sound as realistic and lifelike as the Apple AirPods Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus Pros and cons:
Pros
- Bluetooth 5.0
- Scalable Samsung codec and AAC,
- Qi wireless charging and
- compact build.
Crons
- It lacks aptX.
- There is no auto-resume playback.
- lacks multipoint functionality.
- It Can’t be paired to two devices simultaneously
